History

Upstate Gymnastics Center was started in 1979 with one coach, Maureen Williamson. We now have 20 instructors many of whom have been at Upstate for more than 10 years, some for over 20 years. We have been at our current location since opening, and even expanded the gym in the mid 80's. Our gymnasts come from all over the upstate of South Carolina, and parts of Georgia as well.

Over the years, six of our gymnasts have gone on to compete at the collegiate level. We are proud of our competitive team, and of our former gymnasts who have gone on to start their own gyms.

We believe in fun, fitness and safety in a positive atmosphere. Our greatest source of pride, is the fact that we help the children in our care feel good about themselves and their accomplishments. The coaches at Upstate really enjoy coaching your children!
